Who is Chapel by the Lake?

CBTL Presbyterian Church is a member of A Covenant Order of Evangelical Presbyterians (ECO). We are a Christ-centered, Biblically-based, praying congregation located in Juneau, Alaska. Our mission: To know Jesus and to make Him known. We do this through joyful worship of God, caring nurture of the faith community, and loving outreach to all people.

CBTL Mission

Chapel by the Lake has a long-range plan crafted by the Elders and the congregation that guides our efforts for the glory of God, the enrichment of the communities in SE Alaska, and our missions overseas.

CHAPEL’S BELIEFS

Our denomination, A covenant Order of Evangelical Presbyterians (ECO), declares, “What we believe compels how we live. ECO is committed to a clearly-articulated, Christ-centered theology that propels our ministry and mission.” The ‘Essential Events and Confessional Standards’ of ECO outline these beliefs. Chapel by the Lake is joyfully bound to these tenets.

OUR VISION FRAME

We believe the Bible is the true word of God. It teaches all that is necessary for faith and life, shaping our priorities and directing our actions. We need to know Jesus. Through fervent prayer and intentional study, we come to know Christ’s teachings so that the Holy Spirit may guide us.

ECO DENOMINATION

The mission of ECO is to build flourishing churches that make disciples of Jesus Christ.
In April 2013, Chapel joined ECO, a Reformed and Presbyterian denomination. ECO formed in January 2012 so congregations and leaders could unite in a covenanted biblical community centered in Jesus, anchored to the Bible’s authority, and committed to the mission of building God’s kingdom.
