Vacation Bible School 2012

Just a quick FYI: our last luncheon of the season will be held on May 18th, from 11:45am to 1:15pm, here in Smith Hall.

If you have a son or daughter (grandchild, niece, nephew, friend, etc…) that is graduating from High School this year, we would like to recognize them during the church service, May 27th, and in our bulletin and newsletter. Please contact Donovan, 789-7592, and leave your student’s name and High School for the list.

We’re trying something a little different this year; starting June 5th, we will be combining the High School & Middle School Youth Groups into one gathering. We will be meeting Tuesdays from 6:30pm to 8:30pm. All High School & Middle School youth are invited to join us!

Grab your favorite “fiber-based project” and join us for a time of fellowship. Our weekly sewing/knitting/quilting/tea-sipping group meets on Saturdays from 10:00am to Noon. Call Kirstie Dye for more information, (907) 463-4434.

Create your own team, sign-up to be placed on a team, or come and cheer us on. Along with the tournament, there will be a coinciding potluck BBQ for fellowship and to fuel up for the next game. The tournament will take place on June 17th, at Dimond Park from 1-5P. Participants, sign-up in Smith Hall. Signing up prior to the event helps with the arrangement of teams and scheduling of games. If you don't want to play but would like to participate we are looking for umpires, score-keepers, and BBQ/Potluck overseers. Get your game face on! Applications are available on the CBTL website for the 2012 Lavena Hutchison Scholarship. The purpose of scholarship is to encourage education which will advance the ministry of Jesus Christ. We welcome applications from high school seniors who are considering post-secondary education or students who are currently attending college. Please contact Joel Webb at jbw65@yahoo.com if you have any questions regarding the scholarship or application process. Completed applications are due Friday, June 15th.

This cruise is the annual fund-raising event where the proceeds go toward the Community Christian Counseling Center. This fund is used for the Center’s overall operation and/or to help offset fees for those clients with limited resources, ensuring high-quality help for all who seek it.

Tickets will be available from Board Members (Ron or Rita Klaudt have tickets for sale after the 8am church service) and are also available from Hearthside Bookstore. For more information contact Beth Belflower at 789-2595 or Willow Ritter at 321-4023.

Footsteps in the Apostle Paul pilgrimage in April 2013: The tentative dates for our pilgrimage to Turkey and Greece are April 13th – 24th, 2013. We fly from Seattle to Istanbul where we spend several days. Then we visit numerous sites of the early church in western Turkey before cruising across the Aegean Sea in route to Athens. A full itinerary and trip details will be available soon. Speak with Pastor Dye for more information and consider joining us on this faith-shaping adventure as we visit Ephesus, Patmos, Corinth, and many other places from the early church.
